Total length: length of the whole fish ,or the extent between the snout headend and the caudal fin end. Body length: or standard length, the straight distance form the snout headend to caudal fin base , i.e. the total length minus the part of the tail. Body depth: the max depth of the body, or vertical distance from the highest point of the back to the abdomen. Head length: the rectilinear length from the snout headend to the rear edge of opercle. Snout length: the rectilinear length from the snout headend to the frontal edge of the eye orbit. Eye orbit diameter: the diamater of the eye orbit ,i.e. the rectilinear distance from the frontal edge of the orbit to it's rear edge. Eye 's gap: the extent between the rear edge of each eye orbit. Caudal peduncle length: the rectilinear length form the anal fin base to the caudal fin base. Caudal peduncle depth: the min depth of the caudal peduncle. Dorsal fin depth: the rectilinear length of the longest fin ray in dorsal fin. Pectoral fin length: the rectilineal length of the longest fin ray in pectoral fin. Pelvic fin length : the rectilineal length of the longest fin ray in pelvic fin Anal fin length: the rectilineal length of the longest fin ray in anal fin. Caudal fin length: or called 'tail length', the rectilinear length of the longest fin ray in caudal fin. |
